FINAL CONFERENCE OF THE REVERT PROJECT

Within the frame of project implementation “REVERT: Resilience without ViolencE, Resistance without haTe in Public Transport”, the partnership of the project, coordinated by the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens – Department of Communication and Media – Laboratory of Communication & Media Psychology in collaboration with Athens Public Transport Organization, Syneirmos NGO, Almasar NGO and CMT PROOPTIKI Consulting Management Training., is organizing its final online conference that will take place on September 17, 2021, 16:00 ‐ 19:00.

After a turnover of at least 2 years from the implementation of the project, the aim of the REVERT conference is to present the results of the project related to issues of racism and xenophobia in public transport, ways of resolving conflicts within public transport and a culture of reporting incidents of violence and racism. In addition, the main objective of the conference is the creation of a discussion forum upon the existing situation of the phenomenon of racism, especially in urban transport and based on the results of the project. The ultimate goal is to develop synergies between key stakeholders for the holistic and effective handling of racist and xenophobic incidents against refugees and migrants.

Apart from the project partners, representatives of civil society, researchers and academics as well as trained drivers and station masters of the OSY who took part in the project’s capacity building activities will participate in the conference.
