Friendly soccer game between OASA-OSYS drivers and

The Hope Refugee FC team

A friendly soccer game with the participation of drivers and migrants and refugees was also held as part of the Common activities with migrants and refugees on 4th of March, at Renti Star Stadium. More specifically, the OSY-OASA drivers’ team, the Hope Refugee FC team of the Earth NGO and unaccompanied minors of the Social EKAB comprised the mixed teams competing.

The team of OSY-OASA consists of drivers of Road Transport S.A. of the OASA group while the refugee/migrant team will be represented by the Athletic Hope of Refugees (Hope Refugee FC), which consists of refugees and asylum seekers and was founded in 2016 by The Earth Organization aiming at the social inclusion and personal development of the participants through sports.

The organization of the game is part of the project “REVERT: REsilience without ViolencE, Resistance without haTe in Public transport” (, which includes the implementation of Common Activities between bus drivers/trolleybuses and refugees/migrants. The REVERT project is co-funded by the European Union’s “Rights, Equality and Citizenship (2014-2020)” Programme and is implemented under the coordination of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens – Department of Communication and Media – Laboratory of Communication & Media Psychology in collaboration with Athens Public Transport Organization, Syneirmos NGO, Almasar NGO and CMT PROOPTIKI Consulting Management Training.

The Common Activities cycle includes a series of group activities through which the participants are engaged, acquainted with and cooperated in order to promote mutual understanding, recognition of the common nature of their concerns and concerns and ultimately the destabilization of stereotypes that incite xenophobic and racist behavior.
